EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO ALC – 2025

On 30th September 2025, the Department of Community Physiotherapy organized an educational visit for fourth-year BPTh students to the Artificial Limb Centre under Armed Forces Medical College. Accompanied by Dr. Nikita Waghmare and Dr. Afreen Shaikh, students learned about prosthetic, orthotic, and rehabilitation services for defence personnel.

Hosted by Col. Guru Jadhav, the visit included demonstrations of prosthetic and orthotic fittings, advanced gait analysis, and rehabilitation techniques. Students also observed fabrication processes in the EME workshop and explored patient wards, recreational areas, and the physiotherapy department, interacting with patients to understand their recovery journey.

The visit provided valuable insights into prosthetic rehabilitation, clinical reasoning, and physiotherapy’s role in improving mobility and quality of life. The program concluded at 12:30 PM.
