DISABILITY CENTRE VISIT

On 19th November 2025, the Department of Community Physiotherapy organized a field visit to Mahatma Phule Apang Kalyan Prashikshan Kendra for 29 final-year students, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Afreen Shaikh. The visit, part of academic clinical orientation, aimed to provide insight into disability services, rehabilitation procedures, assistive technologies, and community-based support for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Students toured various departments, including physiotherapy, vocational training in electronics, tailoring, and repair, as well as dining and living areas. The centre provides comprehensive services for individuals with physical, intellectual, developmental, and sensory disabilities, offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, early intervention, psychological support, special education, and community integration.

The visit provided practical exposure to multidisciplinary rehabilitation, emphasizing coordinated care, socio-economic challenges, and the role of healthcare professionals in promoting independence and quality of life for PWDs.
