Description
Application
PROcess FIeld BUS is a standard for fieldbus communication in automation technology. It links controllers or control systems with decentralized field devices (sensors and actuators) via a single bus cable on the field level. It also enables consistent data exchange with higher ranking communication systems.
PROcess FIeld BUS DP supports fieldbus solutions in factory and process automation as well as motion control and safety-related tasks using a single, standardized, application-independent protocol. Uniformity is ensured by “application profiles” referring to device families or special industry requirements.
PROcess FIeld BUS DP carries communication data between a controller and field devices (Factory Automation), while PROcess FIeld BUS PA is connected through couplers for typical process automation applications. PA segments can also interface directly with PROcess FIeld NET for MES/ERP integration.
